Years ago, before most of you even heard the term "internet," I self-published a hardcopy newsletter titled Pick & Shovel. It was a newsletter structured for members of the Merchant Marine. I chose the phrase Pick & Shovel so as to align the newsletter with those men and women who swung picks and shovels.
